What’s good, family?
It’s time for another unforgettable night at The Poets Pit with Voices In Power. This isn’t your average open mic.. this is where poetry meets vibes, & the energy is unmatched.
Here’s the deal:
Doors open at 6:00 PM, & the show begins at 7:30 PM. Start your night with music, food, drinks, & networking, plus the chance to sign up for our open mic raffle. The vibes will be curated by DJ G33k, with incredible performances from our Featured Poet Gamo, alongside visual artists & local vendors. Expect a night filled with love, community, & powerful poetry.
For Poets:
• We use an all-raffle sign-up process. Sign-ups open when doors open & close 7:30 PM when the Show starts. Poets must be present to sign up.
• Poets are selected randomly throughout the night to perform & are given 5 minutes for one poem.
• Signing a raffle ticket does not guarantee you’ll be selected to perform.
Please respect the process & time limits to ensure the best experience for everyone.
Feature Bio: GAMO
I’m gamo, a very fashionable poet from Harlem. I’ve had a love for words since I could remember. I was fascinated by how one thing could be said in so many different ways. At the age of 8 I wrote my first poem and it’s been my saving grace ever since. A life without poetry is like a life without breathing for me. I will continue to speak my truth and serve as a voice of the voiceless until my ink dries out…
