Voices In Power is bringing our Poetry Open Mic Experience to Orlando for the first time, & we’re doing it the only way we know how.. intentional, elevated, & rooted in community. We can’t wait to see you there.
The Experience
The doors at our venue open 7:00 PM, with the show beginning at 7:30 PM - 10:30 PM.
Start your night with music, conversation, food, & drinks inside one of Las Vegas’ dopest spaces. This experience is designed as a true night out, a place to arrive early, settle in, enjoy the atmosphere, & stay present all night.
The evening will feature:
- Featured Poet - TBA
- Spotlight Poet - Penehuro
- 15-slot open mic (raffle-style sign-up)
- Music curated by a live DJ
- Live Art
- Interactive moments throughout the night
- Photo & video coverage
Expect a room filled with love, culture, creativity, & powerful poetry.

Spotlight Bio:
Penehuro Williams is a Samoan storyteller who writes from identity – culture, queer, history, family – and all the ways they intersect. He has featured at festivals like the Utah Arts in Salt Lake City, UT, and at universities like UC Davis near Sacramento, CA. In addition to online magazines, his work has been published by the University of Sāmoa, and has been featured at the Wing Luke Museum in Seattle, WA. Competitively, Penehuro is a multi-indie regional finalist and a team regional champion with Spotlight Poetry. Penehuro's writing is oceanic -- from playful shores to emotional trenches, he explores every tide in between, hoping his own voyage inspires others to set sail too.
Food & Drinks
Food & drinks will be available for purchase throughout the night. The venue will offer a curated menu designed specifically for this experience, allowing guests to enjoy delicious food without missing a moment of the show. Whether you’re grabbing a bite before the performances begin or ordering during intermission, food is part of the experience, so be sure to feed your belly while the poetry feeds your soul.
For Poets
Please read carefully:
- Voices In Power uses a raffle-based open mic sign-up
- Sign-ups open when doors open & close when the show begins (7PM-7:30PM)
- Poets must be present to sign up
- Poets are selected randomly throughout the night
- Each poet selected is given 5 minutes for one poem
- Signing a raffle ticket does not guarantee you’ll perform
Please respect the process & time limits so everyone has the best experience possible.
